Community Engagement for Environmental Impact

In the natural world, a pollinator is any being that carries pollen from one part of a flower to another, fertilizing plants and making seeds, fruit, and new life possible.

Root Local’s Pollinator Network works in much the same way. We move ideas, resources, and relationships across our community, spreading our mission, planting seeds of change, and fertilizing collective action around shared environmental goals. Together, we cultivate deeper, more meaningful conservation work that creates visible impact across our city. Led by the Pollinator Steering Committee, the Network amplifies our collective voice, expanding environmental awareness and mobilizing action through volunteer outings, community events, and strategic collaborations.

Become a Member of our Network

Driven by community members, our events and volunteer activities are focused on learning, action, and movement, while keeping these environmental sectors in mind:

Food Systems Air & Water Quality Management Canopy & Land Management
Green Buildings & Practices Sustainable Fashion & Products
Travel & Transportation

Our Pollinator Network also seeks to impact:

Equity

Public health

Waste reduction

Energy use

Educational support

You can be a part of this ecosystem. Participate in planning or attending Root Local events. Seek out volunteer opportunities with organizations supported by us and our environmental partners.

When you join the Pollinator Network, or step into leadership through the Steering Committee, you help carry the pollen. And together, we grow something far greater than any one of us could alone.

Make a Collective Impact

We understand that with so many options in the sustainability world, it’s hard to know where you can start making a meaningful impact. We are here to make it easier.

Grow the Map

Support us in growing the Eco-Map for Metro Atlanta, or EMMA, so individuals, communities, organizations, and businesses can connect, find solutions, and embrace environmental consciousness.

Get Involved

There are always ways to create impact. Root Local provides a one-stop resource that offers opportunities to connect. Volunteer, attend events, join committees: find the right fit on our Event Calendar.
