Urban Tree Canopy, or UTC, is an essential component of sustainable urban living. Without trees for shade, bushes and shrubs for erosion mitigation, and green spaces, life in our city would be hotter, dustier, and a veritable wasteland. Root Local helps spread the importance of maintaining a healthy canopy through information on invasive species and their removal, the importance of growing native plants, and advocating for green infrastructure.
